Connecting, Playing and Learning

The Mary Meyer School Parent & Toddler Program offers new experiences and wonderful activities for children ages 21-33 months old in our purposeful, play-based environment. The program provides varied opportunities for each child to connect, play and learn as fully as possible in the comfort of the beloved brownstone schoolhouse that is our home.

Children and their accompanying grown-up share and play in a tot friendly environment of materials that are used freely and creatively with adult support and guidance. A variety of purposeful play-based activities including music, movement, creative play, art and stories take place both indoors and outdoors in the Mary Meyer School Playgarden.

Our program is based on supporting the child’s developmental desire to explore. Debra Wechter, the Parent & Toddler Program Teacher and Head Teacher in our Morning and Afternoon Classes at Mary Meyer School, organizes and plans activities which help to accomplish this task. The environment has been designed to provide a rich atmosphere where toddlers can play and discover at their own pace.

Who is eligible for the Parent & Toddler Program?
To be eligible for consideration for the 2025-2026 Parent & Toddler Program, children must be born between December 2, 2022 and December 1, 2023.
What are the class dates and time?
​September – May (30 Weeks)
Weekly on Tuesdays: 4:00-5:15PM
What is the cost for the program?
​2024-2025 School Year Tuition:  $2,279.00

​A $500 deposit and a fully completed registration form will be required upon acceptance of an offered space. 
How many spaces will be available?
Class enrollment is limited to no more than 14 students + one grown-up to accompany each student.

​Admissions decisions will be emailed in Early February. 
Will entry into the Parent & Toddler Program guarantee entry into the Morning or Afternoon Program?
While participating in the Mary Meyer School Parent & Toddler Program gives families a unique window into school-life at Mary Meyer School and provides students a familiarity and comfort with our philosophy and approach to early childhood education, enrollment in the Mary Meyer School Parent & Toddler Program does not guarantee enrollment into the Mary Meyer School Morning or Afternoon Classes.
Who can join my toddler in the class?​
Mary Meyer School welcomes any parent, guardian, caregiver or adult family member to attend class with an enrolled toddler student.
