O
ne of the things on which parents comment most about Mary Meyer is the feeling of community and belonging. We are a tight-knit community and often function like a family. We look out for one another and try to do things that help each other, better the community and support the school. We hope that you will be as actively involved, both inside and outside of the classroom, as your time allows. It’s fun, after all, and a wonderful way to watch your child grow and develop.

Parents are encouraged to get involved in the classroom and with our special events. Whether helping to celebrate your child’s birthday, organizing our annual children’s Art Opening, cooking snack with the kids during Cooking Club, helping with repair work around the school, there are always opportunities to get involved. Parents are always welcome to come read a story, share a special skill, or simply observe their child with his or her classmates.

The school is administered by a board of directors made up of current and alumni parents, all of whom are elected annually by the parents of currently enrolled students. The board oversees the budget and general operation of the school. It works with the executive director to ensure the continuity and quality of the school program.

Our major fundraiser each year is a Benefit and Auction. Parents, mindful of the fact that tuition alone does not cover the school's operating expenses, organize a festive fundraiser that includes friends and family.
